The old Rod & Reel was great! But the new Rod &Reel, was all around beautiful, unbelievably outstanding!! The property manager, Ty! We never had experienced that warm & incredible hospitality! Amazing!

This was our 4th stay in Suite 8 and we're going back again later this month, and are planning to return next year. The Rod & Reel Resort is incredible - beautiful, quiet, relaxing, so close to the water and next to the entertaining Rod & Reel Pier. It's nice to have bikes, kayaks and paddle boards included to avoid the hassle of renting them from elsewhere. They even have beach toys onsite for the kids. We've met so many friendly guests from all over the US at this small, intimate 8 room resort. We wholeheartedly recommend staying here whether with family, friends or just as a couple.

Our group thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the rod and reel resort but I do have a few comments that could have improved our stay. First, let me thank Ty for his prompt service to all of our needs. My first comment is that the set up of the bedrooms was not clear in the description...we did not realize we had to walk through the first bedroom to get to the 2nd bedroom....awkward for 2 couples as opposed to a family. Next...the king size bedroom needed some hooks or "over the door" hangers so we could hang bathrobes or other articles of clothing. We had no closet so it was difficult to keep the room neat. We definitely enjoyed having the facilities to cook a few meals but were lacking simple utensils and potholders. Also, the throw rug in the living room needed to be cleaned or replaced. A few simple things would have made your rating a 5. The pool, hot tub, and grounds ...including the concrete ping pong table were great!! A little TLC to the bicycles like new handles and a good cleaning of the seats was greatly needed. It was great to have beach chairs, kayaks, and paddle boards to enjoy and the location is superb.

We traveled to Anna Maria Island for the first time this year and brought 2 (4,7) of our 3 kids. Stayed 5 nights in Suite 3 and can not say enough good things about this place. The concept of just 8 suites was really neat and we enjoyed resort life without all craze of resort size. There was never a rush to grab a seat at the pool/bar area and we got to meet some really cool families that were also staying there. Everyone respects the resort and treats the place like a one big shared home. There are plenty of kayaks, paddle boards, pool floats & chairs for guests and from what we experienced, everyone is willing to share even their own pool & beach toys. We left everything we bought at the pool for the next family to use because we loved that idea. Ty is the property manager and does a great job making sure everyone is taken care of. Suzette the owner was a gem to work with and I was understanding of anything we asked of her and did her best to accommodate. The location is a short walk and even shorter drive to the beautiful Bean Point Beach. Dining and shops are just a couple miles away and can be easily accessed by foot, bike or car. I recommend dining at the Waterfront, which is just down the street and if you're looking for some great lunch, check out the Rod & Reel pier. If you're planning on grabbing a couple cocktails too, the bar downstairs has prices you wouldn't believe. We also had a blast renting a couple poles from said Pier and did a little fishing with kids. We'll definitely be back with the whole family!

Wow ! What a great spot to escape the world. Suzette did an exceptional job with the décor in each room. The attention to detail on the grounds and rooms is well done. Everything is exceptionally clean and well kept. The rooms are spacious and well equipped. The bed was extremely comfy. With cooking options in your room and on site BBQ’s you do not even have to leave if you do not want to. The pool and spa area is spacious and inviting. The beach is white sand and excellent for swimming and beachcombing. Lots of sea life we were fortunate to see Manatees, Rays, Dolphins and a wide variety of other fish. The on site bikes get you over to Bean Point (Amazing Sunsets) in minutes or down to Pine avenue to the General Store for snacks treats and libations. The intimacy of the resort lets you get to know other travelers staying as well. The group staying at the same time were great and we shared many drinks and dinners. Also lots of dining options close by. Oops almost forgot on site Kayaks, paddle boards and ping pong for use any time. Highly recommend this resort!! Cheers !
